  • Ikia's background begins in the business arena, where she spent several years in Accounting and Reporting. She accepted her calling to walk alongside others through life, which led her to a path of Counseling and Mental Health. Ikia is now an LPC! Ikia is also a member of the Association of Biblical Counselors and working on the coursework for her ACBC Certification.

Ikia specializes in both Trauma and Grief Counseling.

Ikia's favorite scripture: 1 Peter 5:7-10 which says, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.“

  • My name is Tiara Shoals I am an LPC with Amayesing Skillz. I attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated with my master’s in Human Relations and a focus in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. For my undergraduate psychology degree, I went to Langston University.

I have worked in the mental health field in various positions since graduating with my bachelor's degree. I have been able to enjoy clients from ages 5 - 99 years old in both school and community settings.

The scripture that best fits me and my mindset in my work is: "May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind towards each other that Christ Jesus had" (Romans 15:5).

And an unrelated but relevant quote that I keep in mind while doing this work is "God knew who I was when he chose me" (unknown).

  • Zairra Young is a Case Manager with Amayesing Skills.

Graduate of Creighton University B.S. in Psychology and now currently working on completing a M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration on Biblical and Christian Counseling

I have been working in mental health for at least 5 years. I started doing work in mental health while I was in undergrad and have worked with many different populations.

I was born and raised here in Tulsa, OK. The reason I chose to pursue a degree in mental health stemmed from my passion for mental health and wanting to see change when it comes to stigma and other issues that mental health contributes to. I’ve seen how it’s impacted my life and others around me and that is what pushed me into the field. I have a heart that cares deeply for others and a heart that is very empathetic. I know this is the field and career path that God has called me to. For me, the word of God and Christ is the authority and is sufficient in helping fulfill the needs of others.

There are many scriptures I use as the motivation behind my work. One of that scripture is 2 Timothy 3:16-17 that states that scripture is the authority on which we stand. Genesis 1:27 stating we are created in the image of God which is why I choose to look at people as people and not the circumstances or situations they are in. I see them as God sees them

  • Raena Marick was born in Boston, and raised in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She is passionate about kids and spends her free time baking. She attended Tulsa Community College where she received her associates in applied science and social work. • I am currently working as Clinical Director for Amayesing Skillz. I attended the University of Oklahoma where I earned my bachelor of arts in Sociology/Criminology along with a minor in Communications. I later earned my Masters of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from Langston University.

I have worked for nearly 10 years in the mental health/behavioral health field, starting as a case manager, linking and referring low-income clients with community resources. During my time as a case manager, I also performed behavioral health rehabilitation counseling services which sparked my interest in providing therapy to better assist those who deal with mental health challenges. As a therapist, I currently provide individual, family, and group therapy to clients.

I am a proud Tulsan and enjoy serving the community that helped to shape and mold me into the person I am today. I have experience working with diverse populations and varying age groups from children to adults, however, my preferred population is adolescents and teenagers, especially those from low economic backgrounds. I believe individuals who represent this demographic are at a delicate stage in their lives in which they experience varying life changes, challenges, and opportunities for growth as they transition into adulthood.

One of the biblical scriptures that motivates my work is Proverbs 11:25 which says, “Generous persons will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed."
